Lillian Emerick Valentine is a poet and organic farmer from western Oregon. She currently lives in Missoula, Montana where she is an MFA candidate in poetry and a writing instructor at the University of Montana. Her work centers around the themes of labor, the environment, and human entanglement. She has received a Fishtrap Fellowship, Hugo scholarship, and Kidd scholarship for her poetry, and was selected for the Environmental Humanities reading in Spring 2023. She is the poetry editor for Cutbank Literary Magazine. An avid backpacker, cyclist, and runner, she spends as much time as possible outside.
